Marble countertops enhance kitchens and bathrooms with luxury and unique veining patterns. To maintain their beauty and durability, proper cleaning and maintenance are crucial. Here’s a care guide for marble countertops.

For daily maintenance, begin with a gentle sweep using a soft-bristle broom or dry microfiber cloth to remove loose debris like crumbs or dust. This helps prevent scratching the marble surface during cleaning.
Next, dampen a clean, soft cloth with lukewarm water for a light wipe-down of the countertop.Gently wipe the surface, focusing on spills and residues. Avoid hot water to prevent damage to the marble. For stubborn stains, use a pH-neutral, marble-friendly cleaner, applying it to the cloth and gently rubbing the area.

For tough oil-based stains, use a targeted approach. Sprinkle baking soda over the stain and let it sit for 15-20 minutes to absorb the oil. Then, wipe away the baking soda and loosened stain with a damp cloth.
To treat ink or wine stains, mix equal parts hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to create a paste.Apply it to the stain and cover with plastic wrap to keep it moist overnight. This will help lighten the stain. The next day, remove the wrap and clean the area with a damp cloth.

To protect your marble countertop, regular sealing is important. Sealing creates a barrier that decreases porosity and stain absorption. Seal every 1-2 years in busy kitchens and every 2-3 years in less-used bathrooms.
